The following survey is designed to gather information about the core courses with regards to the core objectives as published by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.  The following definitions are given for your guidance in your determining whether or not the courses listed below includes one or more of the following core objectives:
A.  Critical Thinking: to include creative thinking, innovation, inquiry, analysis, evaluation and synthesis of information;
B.  Communication Skills: to include effective development, interpretation and expression of ideas through written, oral and visual communication;
C.  Empirical and Quantitative Skills: to include the manipulation and analysis of numerical data or observable facts resulting in informed conclusions;
D. Teamwork: to include the ability to consider different points of view and to work effectively with others to support a shared purpose or goal;
E:  Personal Responsibility: to include the ability to connect choices, actions and consequences to ethical decision-making; and
F:  Social Responsibility: to include intercultural competence, knowledge of civic responsibility, and the ability to engage effectively in regional, national, and global communities.

Please indicate which of the core objectives each course includes by clicking the rectangle (box) below each of your choices and you may choose as many of the six as you feel appropriate for each of the courses listed.

PLEASE respond for ONLY THE COURSES for which you are responsible.  For each core objective, there are two possibilities, teaching and assessing.  It is possible to do either for each course for each core objective.  Please consider whether or not you teach and/or assess for each course for each of the core objectives and make the appropriate response.

The survey is in the following order: Communications; Mathematics; Life and Physcial Sciences; Language, Philosophy, and Culture; Creative Arts; American History; Government/Political Science; and Social and Behavioral Sciences.  You can therefore, after entering your name, click submit, until you find the page that contains the course(s) you are teaching.
